Grimsby moved up to seventh in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League with a four wicket win over Haxey firsts.

The Isle club are now 16 points ahead of bottom side Hartsholme in what has been a difficult campaign for the side.

Meanwhile, maximum points for the top three teams saw no change in the upper reaches of the league.

However, Market Deeping’s defeat at the hands of second placed Sleaford allowed Lindum to move into fourth.

Ben O’Brien took six wickets as leaders Woodhall Spa raced to a seven wicket win over Louth while Matt Carter took his wicket total to 56 with a five wicket haul for Bracebridge Heath who beat Bourne by nine wickets.

Both captains opened the batting in this game – Peter Morgan for Bourne and Paul Cook for Bracebridge Heath – and both were out on the first ball of the innings, caught behind!

Tom Shorthouse hit an unbeaten 79 for Sleaford in their seven wicket victory over Market Deeping, for whom Chris Jones made 50 while Lindum were the only team to top 200, Charlie Tomlinson hitting 59 and Richard Genge taking five wickets for Hartsholme who were then bowled out for 121.

Skegness stayed sixth after Sean Williams had taken six Spalding wickets at Richmond Drive. Josh Newton hit 58 for the visitors whose innings ended on 161 for nine, a total the seasiders overtook for the loss of four wickets.
