The Paul’s Happy League practice match fished on the Stainforth and Keadby canal at Thorne attracted a good turnout of 80 anglers.
The canal was hard going for most but Steve Lowther (Daiwa Dons) won from peg 93, where he fished bomb and maggot for 11-4-0 of skimmers.
Mick Green (Thorne) took second place with 7-8-0 and Roy Marklew (Garbolino Ossett) was third with 7-3-0.
Further up the canal at Medge Hall, Scunthorpe AA held their weekly open with 24 anglers fishing.
Sean Camburn (Grimsby) won the match with 14-7-0 of bream and skimmers caught on the pole and maggot from peg 328, ahead of 2 Graham Tock (Selby) 11-10-0, 3 Ethan Howe (Crowle) 9-9-0.
Woodhouse Grange was in good form at the end of last month.
Graham Martin (Sheffield) won the Wednesday match fished on Heron with 92-0-0 of carp caught on the pole and pellet from peg 7.
Runner up Andy Spick (Woodhouse Grange) 69-4-0 was ahead of Tony Clegg (Woodhouse Grange) 60-14-0 in third.
Thursday’s match was fished on Kingfisher and Spick went one better this time, winning with an excellent weight of 164-8-0.
He fished pole with corn and pellet in the margins from peg 9.
Steve Clegg (Woodhouse Grange) claimed second spot with 140-0-0, followed by 3 Mick Rodgerson (Woodhouse Grange) 75-0-0.
Andy Bailey (Daiwa Dons) won the Saturday match fished on Heron with 62-8-0 of carp caught on the pole and pellet.
Runner up John Dudley (Woodhouse Grange) 56-8-0 was ahead of 3 Bernie Larder (Woodhouse Grange) 43-0-0.
Ian Taylor (Cats and Dogs) won the Sunday match also fished on Heron lake with 118-0-0 of carp on pole and paste from peg 36.
