The Ultimate Barnsley man was on peg 167 towards Wykewell bridge and fished pole and hempseed for 16-14-0 of roach.
Team-mate Dave Brookes jnr was on peg 169 and had skimmers and roach on caster and hemp for 15-8-0 and second.
Third placed Paul Kerr (Sensas North) 14-8-0 was followed by 4 Jason Cunningham (Shakespeare) 11-9-0, 5 Rob Quinn (Shakespeare) 11-8-0 and 6 S Woodlands 11-4-0.
Garbolino Lindholme was in fine form for the weekend matches.
Saturday’s open saw 73 anglers fish Bonsai, Willows and Oasis.
Alan Simpson (Browning) won the match from peg 25 on Bonsai with 126-15-0 of carp caught on the pole and pellet.
John Kenning (Garbolino Lindholme) took second from peg 2 on Bonsai with 109-13-0 of carp also on pole and pellet.
Third placed Adam Richards (Browning) 101-5-0 was followed by 4 Wayne Ibbotson (Kerrs) 99-3-0, 5 B Roberts (Drennan) 89-6-0, 6 Steve Mazza (Yorkshire Baits) 87-5-0.
Sunday’s match was fished on Bonsai and Oasis by 67 and won by Tim Moran (Oaks) with 90-9-0 of carp taken on the pole and pellet from peg 21 on Oasis.
Runner up A Nelson (Browning) 87-8-0 finished ahead of 3 Andy Middleton (Grattan AC) 87-7-0, 4 John Kenning (Garbolino Lindholme) 84-1-0, 5 G Chapman (Lindholme) 79-6-0 and 6 C Mayo (Drennan) 72-9-0.
RESULTS
Fourways Fishery
Last Sunday’s open was held on the Laneside Lake at Fourways. With a noon start, the anglers had the best of the weather. The fish were feeding well and some nice carp were caught out on feeder. Tench, roach, bream, ide, rudd, crucian and a perch (2-12) were also much in evidence.
First was Joe Goulding with 33-11 on peg 1. Jamie East came second with 26-3 on peg 8. With 19-00 off peg 27 Cantley’s Keith Marshall took third.
The next open is on Sunday, March 25, draw 11am, fishing noon-6pm. Pleasure anglers have also been catching well especially on the carp free Fieldside Lake.
