Danum Eagles maintained their unbeaten record in EBL Division Four at the expense of Nottingham Hoods II on Saturday, writes James Brough.
The Eagles made the trip to Nottingham without the previous week’s leading scorer George Colwill, who was unavailable due to personal commitments.
Despite Colwill’s absence, the Eagles got off to a fast start as Tom Hodson single handedly gave them a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes.
Eagles lead throughout, finishing the first quarter with a 20-8 cushion.
The rest of the game also went to plan, as the visitors cruised to a comfortable 77-48 victory to retain the top spot.
Mathew Martin top scored for the Eagles with 21 points, while Hodson (17) and Josh Metcalf (12) also made big contributions.
Win-less Sporting Club Albion are the visitors to Danum Academy on Saturday (2pm).

The Doncaster youngsters played fantastic basketball for three quarters but a poor second quarter saw the spirited Eagles lose by seven points.
Liam Knapp (38 points) led the scoring, while Ross Leckenby also impressed.

Owen Bell, Matt Green, Harrison Bell and Arjun Sanghera all shone, while 13-year-old Matt Melady came off the bench to notch nine points.
