Paul Dickov feels Rovers return home tonight in the perfect condition to ignite their Keepmoat fortunes.

Dickov’s men welcome Notts County to the Keepmoat tonight after five consecutive away games and brimming with confidence following three wins and two draws in the spell.

As well as advancing in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, rectifying a poor home record is high on Dickov’s agenda tonight.

Rovers have won just once on home soil this term but Dickov is confident the hex will soon be lifted.

“It’ll be nice to come back home,” Dickov said.

“We’re in good form, we’re playing with a lot of confidence and resilience.

“We want to start getting results here at the Keepmoat.

“We’ve just got to continue doing what we’re doing.

“If defensively you’re not sound, as we weren’t at times at the start of the season, it can create a bit of panic.

“Having that is allowing us to go and play football which we want to do against Notts County.

“At home we’ve tended to keep the ball for keeping it’s sake. It’s a fine line from being patient with it to not doing enough.

“We need to move the ball with tempo to move teams around and we’ve been very good at that recently.”

Dickov is expecting a tough test from tonight’s visitors Notts County .

While County have stuttered recently with just one win in six, they sit seventh in League One after a strong start to the campaign.

Dickov said: “Shaun Derry has done a great job and they’ve been playing really well this season.

“Me and Shaun were both at Crystal Palace and we did our A-License together. He’s got Greg Abbott alongside him who is someone I know very well.

“They were really struggling when those two went in and it’s a credit to them to look at where they are in the league.

“They’re a good team and we know we’re going to have our work cut out.

“But we know we’re a good team at the minute.”

Nathan Tyson has been ruled out of tonight’s clash due to a continuation of his calf problem.

James Coppinger and Richie Wellens may be in line for rests due to respective dead leg and back issues.
