Centre Liam Cunningham has been charged with the Grade B offence after striking Sheffield Eagles player Michael Knowles with his knees in Sunday’s Championship play-offs defeat.
The incident happened around the 25th minute during the South Yorkshire derby which saw Sheffield claim at 58-24 victory.
Cunningham, who has until 11am on Tuesday to submit an Early Guilty Plea, was charged after the incident was viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel.
No other charges were brought from last weekend’s play-off fixtures, a Rugby Football League statement read.
