Young cricketers have bowled over their academy after firing their way to the Scunthorpe and District Schools Cup.
For South Axholme Academy have been celebrating an emphatic final cup victory in their year 10 competition against a battling and determined Winterton outfit.
And with a score of 88, hit off 16 overs, Winterton showed they were taking no prisoners when it came to targeting the cup.
However, South Axholme had Scott Ewan in their ranks who hit an unrivalled 50no as James Percival knocked 28 to see the Academy reach the run chase with three overs to spare.
South Axholme’s squad was made up of: Jack Mitchell (captain), Scott Ewan, James Percival, Brad Croxall, Lewis Daniels, Alex Barnes, Connor McParland, Matty Thomas, Richie Burdett, Billy Scott, Matty Harris, Harry Hunter and Luke Bradley.
The Academy’s year eights have also been celebrating following a brilliant victory over last season’s cup winners Baysgarth. More in next week’s Epworth Bells.
