Ishmael Miller is training with Blackpool after reportedly turning down a move to Doncaster Rovers.
Paul Dickov sounded out the 27-year-old striker prior to John Ryan and Louis Tomlinson’s takeover collapsing.
The former Manchester City and West Brom frontman wants to play in the Championship - and now looks set to be offered that chance at crisis club Blackpool.
Miller is a free agent after his contract expired at Nottingham Forest and is in now talks with Blackpool after linking up with the Tangerines for training.
Dickov wanted Miller to spearhead Doncaster’s promotion charge, and his physical attributes appealed even more so following Chris Brown’s departure to Blackburn.
In addition to Miller’s reluctance to drop down to League One, the reality of the situation is that his wage demands are now likely to be out of Rovers’ reach anyway - and Dickov will have already turned his attention elsewhere.
Dickov is due to meet with Terry Bramall and Gavin Baldwin today for clarification on his playing budget.
