Epworth Colts U11s 8
Brigg Town U11s 1
WITH two games still to play the Colts have already won the Jack Kalson Sam Fewster Under 11 Division so prior to the game the Colts were presented with the Division Champions 2011/12 Cup by the league representatives.
Once the presentations were finished the Colts had a game to play, with Brigg on the bottom of the league and the Colts having not played a competitive game for over a month the first 20 minutes didn’t look like top versus bottom. Although the Colts never really looked threatened they struggled to create many opportunities.
Eventually Epworth managed to start getting the ball out wide and finding a bit more room to work the ball and their passing game started to come together with Kyle Blackburn cutting in from the left and driving the ball home in the bottom corner. This was quickly followed by Callum Marsh being put through to guide the ball past the keeper. At 2-0 up the Colts now looked more comfortable.
From here on in Epworth dominated the game creating several opportunities and apart from a wonderful free kick from Brigg curled into the top right corner the colts never looked under any pressure eventual ly running out 8-1 winners.
This takes the Colts tally to 113 scored and 12 conceded giving a goal difference of 101 and still unbeaten in the league with one game remaining. Man of the match for his best performance of the season was Connor Wyatt.
