On Wednesday September 11, we host The Crown Hotel at Bawtry Opening Day, where retired jockeys blow away the cobwebs off their saddles to go against each other once again in the Clipper Logistics Leger Legends Stakes.
Last year, Mick Kinane was victorious in the race and a stellar line-up is guaranteed once again.
A huge crowd is once again expected on DFS Ladies Day Thursday, with the feature race being the DFS Park Hill Stakes, and last year’s winner Wild Coco may well be lining up once again after an easy win at Goodwood last time out.
Last year’s third was Estimate, who of course went on and won the Ascot Gold Cup for Her Majesty the Queen earlier on this year.
On Friday, it is Doncaster Cup Day, and last year’s winner Times Up may be back for more this time around.
He was trained last year by John Dunlop, who retired soon after that, and Times Up is now in the care of his son Ed at Newmarket, who excels with staying horses such as Red Cadeaux and Snow Fairy, to name but two.
