SOUTH Axholme Academy has enjoyed another year of football dominance in the Scunthorpe Schools Champions League.
Three out of the five year groups have managed to reach the finals.
Mr Grimes’ Year 7 football team have had a tremendous season winning the Scunthorpe and District five-a-side tournament and progressing well in the English Schools competition.
Mr Bowmer’s Year 9 team produced the performance of the season to beat Frederick Gough School in the semi final l4-1 to make the final against their old rival Winterton in a repeat of the final two years ago.
Mr Barlow’s Year 10 team beat Melior School 6-2 in the semi final to face Frederick Gough for the third time out of four years in the final. The Year 7 and Year 9 Cup Final is on Thursday May 3 at St Lawrence Academy and the Year 10 final is today, Thursday April 19, also at St Lawrence Academy.
A school spokesman said: “Good luck to all the teams and let’s hope for some silverware!”
