Doncaster Rovers: Keep calm and carry on - Flynn

Brian Flynn has called for big hearts and cool heads in tomorrow’s crunch clash with Notts County.

A crowd of more than 10,000 is expected at the Keepmoat Stadium with the carrot of a return to the Championship dangling in front of Doncaster.

And coping with the pressure of that incentive will be central to Flynn’s pre-match team talk.

“On Saturday the hearts are going to have to pump,” said Flynn.

“Everyone in the ground is going to be excited. The hearts will be pumping but we’ve got to have a cool head.

“We’ve got to be cool and calm, and play with controlled aggression.

“If we have those three things, we’ll be okay.

“Notts County aren’t going to come here and just give us the three points,” he added.

“They’ve introduced some young players and it paid off for them against Colchester at the weekend.

“They’re not going to make it easy for us.”

If they win, or draw, Rovers could be promoted on Saturday night, pending other results.

“I’ve not got anything in place to find out what’s going on elsewhere,” said Flynn.

“But information will seep through. You can always tell with the crowd reaction.

“Let’s just get our side of the bargain sorted and go to Brentford with it still in our hands.

“It’s vital we do that.”

Goalkeeper Gary Woods (pictured above) remains a major doubt with a back problem.
