Paul Dickov refused to be too disappointed at Rovers failing to move into the play-off places despite admitting his frustration at the goalless draw with Notts County.
“You don’t worry about getting into the top six in January - it’s the end of the season when it really matters,” Dickov said.
“It was a frustrating game. We created enough chances to win two games rather than one.
“I’m pleased with the performance though. Notts County tried to do a similar job to the one they did in the JP Trophy, sitting back and trying to hit us on the break.
“If you can’t win games, you make sure you don’t lose them.
“But I think anyone who was here knows it was a game we should have won.”
Dickov confirmed Richie Wellens missed the game due to illness.
