Paul Dickov was delighted with his side’s late show to see off local rivals Barnsley at the Keepmoat.
Harry Forrester curled in a stunning strike from a tight angle with just six minutes of the South Yorkshire derby to go, handing Rovers a 1-0 win.
And Dickov was pleased with what he thought was a deserved win for his side.
“I think it showed the character of the team again and the fitness levels in the team,” Dickov said.
“We came back and scored a late goal at Oldham last week and a late goal won it for us against Barnsley.
“It shows that there is a lot of belief in the team.”

Dickov added: “It was a special goal to win it, which was ironic because all the chances we missed in the first half were a lot easier.
“Harry’s got that in his locker, it was a fantastic finish. He’s a special player at times.
“Harry and Nathan Tyson changed the game when they came on. Tyson was outstanding.
“That shows we’ve got a squad that is backing each other as well. Substitutes come on and put in performances like that even though they’re disappointed to be left out.”
Dickov says he expects Abdul Razak to arrive in Doncaster on Monday to sign a contract with Rovers.
But he said the former Manchester City midfielder will still likely be forced to wait for international clearance before making his first appearance.
