Paul Dickov says his Rovers side should read nothing into the League One table when they welcome Gillingham to the Keepmoat this afternoon.
Peter Taylor’s side currently sit 20th in the table after a difficult start to the season which included nine games without a win.
But Dickov has warned nothing should be taken for granted by Rovers, who are looking to end their own poor record on home soil.
“It’s important we don’t look too much into their position in the table because they’ve turned a corner recently,” Dickov said.
“They’re unbeaten in their last five games which shows they’ve got some sort of resilience in them.
“They’ve got a good experienced manager in Peter Taylor and some good experienced players as well.
“As much as we want to go out and attack them, we know we’ve got to be wary because like any team in this league, they’re a threat.”
Dickov says a decision will be taken late on whether Nathan Tyson will feature against Gillingham today.
Tyson has sat out the last three games with a groin injury but returned to training this week.
Dickov said: “If he’s fit and he says he’s fit, he’ll be involved.
“He’s been fantastic for us since he came in so he’ll be involved if he is fit.
“If he’s not, we’re almost guaranteed that he’ll be ready for next weekend.”
