Doncaster Knights will be bidding to go out on a high when entertaining Cross Keys in their final home game of what has been a memorable year for the Castle Park club tomorrow (2pm).

Although the Welsh Principality Premiership club have nothing but pride to play for in the last round of B&I Cup Pool 4 games, Knights boss Clive Griffiths is not taking their challenge lightly.

“They had a number of Newport Gwent Dragons players in their side against Bedford but we’ve had to prepare this week not knowing the side they’ll field,” said Griffiths.

“You have to expect the unexpected with Welsh rugby.

“What I do know is that every Welsh team is going to be competitive and they’ll be coming up here to try and spoil the party and as such there has been no hint of complacency from anyone at the club this week.

“We might be top of the pool and only needing one point to be guaranteed a home tie in the quarter-finals, but I’m expecting it to be a tough game. It’s a game that we not only want to win but one in which we want to try and put on a show for the spectators.

“We also want to go into our Championship game at Nottingham on the back of three good cup wins.”
