Rowlestone Lass may not be the most resolute in a battle but she is in form and worth a chance in the 32Red Handicap at Wolverhampton.
Richard Price’s charge had a frustrating run of six second places through the summer, before finally shedding her maiden tag at Dunstall Park in October, shooting six lengths clear to win what was admittedly only an average event in comfortable fashion.
The handicapper hiked Rowlestone Lass by 7lb in the ratings, which looked harsh until the four-year-old turned in a creditable third on her revised mark of 64 at this track in mid-November, travelling well before perhaps just being outbattled by a couple of rivals who just wanted it a bit more.
She remains in fine heart, though, and if things go her way, a further 2lb on her back might not be enough to stop her.
