Haxey’s Kings Arms Reserves caused a mammoth upset as they downed derby day rivals, and league leaders, Owston Ferry.
The close encounter in Owston’s backyard saw Haxey take the Isle bragging rights with a 3-1 victory.
Tempers were flared during the match which saw a caution and a sending off late in the game.
Owston remain at the summit of the Gainsborough & District League’s Division Three with third-placed Kings Arms now just three points behind.
Ferry have the chance to get back to winning ways as they host Ship Inn Morton in round two of the Trinity Trophy on Sunday.
Kings Arms Reserves are also in Trophy action, away to Olde Sun, as Kings’ firsts welcome Maltings Meercats to Haxey. Meanwhile, Misterton United travel to Rose & Crown.
