MIDDLEWEIGHTS Luke Crowcroft and Mickey Davies are looking like forces to be reckoned with after the pair stopped their opponents within the scheduled distance.
Debutant Crowcroft, a highly-regarded amateur, put Adam Stretton down prior to the Swandlicote fighter retiring after the second round.
Scawthorpe super-middle Crowcroft (pictured left, arms raised) blamed his opponent for underestimating his power.
“He came to my town and thought he could have a war with me and he ended up on the deck,” he said.
“The left hook landed good on him and he retired soon after that. It was great to finally make my debut here and I can’t wait for the next one.”
Stainforth’s Davies (far left) got shot of Czech-born Vaclav Skromach in the third round.
It was pretty apparent from the outset that Davies was the stronger of the two and once he started landing cleanly, referee Michael Alexander jumped in.
n Woodlands’ Jason Cunningham notched another win for himself, albeit over a familiar foe.
The bantamweight, who has an ABA title to his name, beat Sheffield’s Anwar Alfadli over four rounds for the third time.
Cunningham is determined to face somebody new but might have to move up to title level to do so in what is such a shallow division domestically.
