Miles Addison believes the break from league action could not come at a worse time for the Iron following their rich vein of form.
United have clinched a 1-1 draw with Yeovil and a 2-1 victory over Walsall recently to help boost their League One fortunes.
However, Russ Wilcox’s men head into Johnstone’s Paint Trophy action against Chesterfield on Tuesday evening before they can get back into domestic league duties away to Bristol City on Saturday.
“It’s a break from the league, which I don’t personally want,” admitted the 25-year-old former Barnsley and Rotherham defender.
“The last two games we’re unbeaten and I want it to continue and it can be a bit of a distraction.
“It’s something for the manager to look at and possibly change a few things before getting back to the league on Saturday.”
