North Lincolnshire Council is going out into the community offering taster sessions for adults with physical disabilities.
Two out of three successful consultation events have taken place already and the next is on August 30 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at Ancholme Leisure Centre.
The event will have a range of free activities on offer for adults aged over 16 to get involved in. There will be wheelchair sports, archery, table tennis, new-age kurling and much more.
Information gathered from these events will be used to decide what activities and sessions will be developed for adults with a physical disability to take part in on a regular basis.
All adults with a physical disability are welcome to attend the events along with family members or support workers if required. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.
With the recent paralympic success at the Commonwealth Games, more and more adults with physical disabilities are realising that they can take part in physical activity and be successful at it.
The consultation events are a great way to find out what activities you can get involved in and show your true sporting potential.
A council spokesman said: “There are many advantages to being active and getting involved in different activities including socialising and meeting new people with a physical disability, getting a better quality of life, improved health and wellbeing and increasing skills and confidence.”
