Both Outcasts’ 1st and 2nd teams lost their unbeaten league runs last weekend as player absences hampered team selection with no less than ten players across both sides being unavailable to play.
The Crowle sides faced a tough task going into their respective fixtures as a result, but refused to give up their unbeaten records without a fight.
It was second versus third as Outcasts’ first team faced Bracebridge B but it was the Lincoln-based outfit that applied the early pressure with the ball.
Bracebridge set out strongly and quickly had the hosts pegged back at 51-7.
Stuart clark offered some resistance with 27 not out but the hosts were skittled all out for 100.
Outcasts started well as they reduced Bracebridge to an incredible 4-3, however Andy McDowall and Matt Whitehouse steadied the ship, taking the score to 31 when the former was bowled by McAnaney for 18.
Matthew Whitehouses’ 48 not out was enough to move Bracebridge above Outcasts in the table with a game in hand.
In Division Three the second XI headed to lowly Normanby Park with a none too familiar side and found themselves chasing a large total when Normanby racked up 204-9 thanks, in the main, to Declan Dunning who hit 54 and opener Nick Chappell who made 41.
Ian Fletcher picked up 3-32 for the Isle sides second string.
For a while David Hobson (31) and Andy Torr (21) looked to be putting their team in with a chance and Mark Coulman also hit 21 for the visitors but they soon fell behind the required run rate, slipping to 130 all out as Alan Dawson took 4 for 36 and Jacob Render 3 for 23 to help Normanby to twenty points which lifted them off the bottom of the table and inflict a first league defeat on Outcasts.
