Louis Tomlinson will be named as co-chairman of Doncaster Rovers after completing his takeover of the club alongside John Ryan.
An announcement is expected today confirming completion of the takeover of the club by the One Direction star and former chairman Ryan.
It was expected that Tomlinson would become a silent partner and allow Ryan to run the club on a day to day basis.
However, Tomlinson is now set to take a more active role in the running of his hometown club, for whom he used to work on the refreshment stands at the Keepmoat.
Ryan stepped down as Rovers chairman last November following the failure of a bid to buy the club by Sequentia Capital which he had backed.
He held onto his 24 per cent stake in the club and is now alongside Tomlinson set to take ownership of similar stakes from major shareholders Terry Bramall and Dick Watson.
