It was fixture to forget for Epworth Allsorts who were beaten by Rebels Red 24-17, writes Jo Douglas.

The re-arranged match saw Allsorts back to a full team as Jayne Pinney stepped in to play.

The only other change made to the line up from the previous match, where Epworth lost 34-22 to Rossington, was in GD as long-standing player Chelsea Croxall stepped in for Rebecca Leggott.

This match was one which Allsorts won’t want a repeat of anytime soon.

The home team set off slowly, arguably feeling jaded from the extraordinary efforts dedicated to the previous match against Rossington.

By the end of the first quarter, although Allsorts played decent netball, the opposition held a sizeable advantage by seven goals to two.

In the second quarter, Allsorts kept badgering and began to eat away at the deficit.

Rebels appeared to be frustrated with penalties against them as Epworth continued to probe at the total in a bid to get something from the match.

However, their efforts proved unsuccessful as Rebels ran out the winners.

Izzy Sterling scored another MVP award.

The Allsorts team were GK Dawn Leggott, GD Chelsea Croxall, WD Jayne Pinney, C Izzy Sterling, WA Jo Douglas, GA Imogen Pinney and GS Kira Drabble.

Epworth Netball are sponsored by Epworth Beauty Clinic.
