THE Knights have snapped up Leicester Tigers prop Keiran Brookes on dual registration.
The 22-year-old made more than 40 appearances for Newcastle Falcons before joining the Tigers and has also represented England and Ireland U20s and the England Saxons.
Brookes will make his Knights debut in Friday night’s clash with Moseley at Castle Park (7.45pm).
The 6ft1 powerhouse can operate anywhere across the front row but is most accustomed to tight head.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to playing for Doncaster, it’s a great opportunity to show everyone here how I play and get some game time which should hopefully aid my development.
“The set up here is really impressive, all the lads have made me feel really welcome and the coaching set up seems very professional.
“It’s a good club and I’m looking forward to playing some good rugby.
“I already knew Jethro Rawling and Dante Mama from the Tigers, they had both told me how good the set up was here and I’m looking forward to linking back up with those guys tomorrow night.”
A foot injury just three games in ended his 2011/12 season with the Tigers and he is looking to earn some game time at Castle Park.
Brookes added: “I enjoy running with the ball in hand, but the set piece is where I will need to be at my best, everything else is secondary.
“In training I am aiming to get my head around the line out calls and scrum set up as well as the calls from the half-backs, but I’m very excited for tomorrow night.
“Everyone is focused on the win tomorrow and there is very positive buzz off the back of last week.
“The confidence is high, no one has any doubts about what we need to do, everyone’s up for it.
“I expect to come up against a lot of big and strong opposition in this league.
“Hopefully my past experience will aid me in the Championship, but I don’t expect anyone to give me any extra respect.
“I’m in for a tough battle.”
