An illness has spread through Rovers’ strikers.
But unfortunately for Paul Dickov it is not goal fever.
Theo Robinson has become the latest forward to be struck down with a throat issue that affected both Chris Brown and Jordan Bowery last week.
The illness has hampered Robinson’s return from injury and means he is highly unlikely to feature in tomorrow’s trip to Bournemouth.
“Theo picked up the throat infection/tonsillitis bug that Chris Brown and Jordan Bowery had for the Yeovil game,” Dickov said.
“He’s not been able to train and he was still off on Thursday.
“We’ll analyse him but it’s going to be a big ask for him this weekend because he hasn’t trained.”
Dickov praised Brown and Bowery for playing through the pain at Huish Park last weekend.
And he believes had the pair been fit and well, Rovers would have returned with something to show from their travels.
He said: “A lot of players in their condition wouldn’t have played down there but because we were down to the bare bones striker-wise both of them wanted to go out.
“I genuinely believe, and this is not an excuse for last weekend, that if they’d have been fully fit we’d have got something out of the game.
“Some of our play leading up to the final third was very good but we just lacked that cutting edge up there.”
Both Brown and Bowery are fit for this weekend and Dickov expects some positive news about Gabriel Tamas.
The full back missed the Yeovil game due to an on-going hamstring problem.
He said: “Gabby Tamas trained yesterday and if he’s come through that he’ll be back in the strong.
“We’ll be in quite a strong position with the squad if we makes it.”
Billy Sharp will serve the final game of his three match suspension.
