Danum Eagles’ evolving women’s team notched their first win of the season to cap a good weekend for the club.
Marta Cepek shone with a season high 32 points as the Eagles soared to a 72-61 win against Sunderland City Predators.
Helen Hinchliffe also had her best game of the season, shooting 19 points, while captain Kerry Mathews added 14.
Eagles’ U18s travelled to Tees Valley to take on the Mohawks and, following a tight opening quarter, ran out comfortable 93-39 winners.
Top of the table Danum led 21-14 at the end of a close opening period.
But whatever Coach Stafford said at the break clearly got the Eagles rolling as they emerged comfortable winners.
The high scoring duo of Liam Knapp and George Darling combined for 56 points, with Sam Speight (16) and captain Max Webster (12) also among the points.
Eagles’ U15s were awarded a 20-0 forfeit win over Gateshead.
