Terry Bramall has reiterated his desire to put Doncaster Rovers’ long term future at the forefront of his club blueprint.
Speaking at Monday night’s fans forum at the Keepmoat Stadium, Bramall told a gathering of 350 fans he was “about sustainability” and would not let Rovers get into trouble on his watch.
Asked about the club’s current transfer policy, Bramall replied: “I’d like to think we’re going to go forward the way we have been running over the last few months, and that’s doing what we can to be viable in the long term.
“You know I’m about sustainability and the overall of where the club is going in the longer term.
“There’s a lot of ingredients and balances to that, one of which is the team and I hope we’ve demonstrated this month what can be achieved and what we want to achieve.
“Nobody gets more excited than me when we’re picking up points.
“We’re trying to look at things sensibly and do good business. Good business isn’t letting players go for nothing.
“You’ve got to buy, you’ve got to sell and move around and keep a working squad.
“That’s what we’ll be endeavouring to do. I hope we’ll develop our expertise in those areas because there’s a lot of clubs that don’t, and get into real trouble.
“I don’t want that happening to Doncaster Rovers again.”
An intriguing night of questioning saw Bramall, chief executive Gavin Baldwin and boss Paul Dickov field questions on the recent takeover talks, the exit of John Ryan, Club Doncaster and talk of administration.
