Kings Arms (Haxey) enjoyed an untroubled victory over Walkeringham, winning 4-0 to progress into the next round of the Trinity Trophy.

The heavy overnight and early morning rain only caused two of the Gainsborough & District Sunday League fixtures to be postponed - one of which was Epworth FC’s clash with Elkesley in Division One.

In Division Three, the top three teams all won to leave the places at the head of the table as they were.

Kings Arms Reserves (Haxey) have 33 points from 16 games, Morton FC 32 from 16 games while Notts Diagonals have 30 points from 11 games.

On current form, Notts Diagonals do look like potential champions in their season in the league, helped by a 5-2 thumping of Owston Ferry.

Kings Arms Reserves were never troubled by an under-strength Sherwood Grove, winning 9-0 as Morton FC edged a tight local derby against Horse & Jockey by 2 goals to 1.

Smiffys FC just stayed in touch with the leaders after a very hard fought 3-2 win against Ropery Rangers who certainly made Smiffy’s work for their points.

Ship Inn Morton showed good form to win 4-2 at LRG Yates who never showed the form of last week.

King & Miller and Mattersey FC made it an all-Retford final in the Nottinghamshire County Sunday Minor Cup, having avoided each other in the semi-final draw.

They both gave hard-working and convincing performances to reach the final.

Elsewhere, King & Miller, who have fell some way behind with league fixtures due to this cup run, won 3-0 against Woodborough Celtic to reach their 1st ever final - and it was richly deserved.

Mattersey, who have a very good record in all cup competitions, travelled to Warren FC and deservedly won 3-1 to make it an all-Retford final.

The Division One title race was thrown wide open on Sunday when MUSC, who won their first 10 games before being held to a draw last week, found FS Clumber at their very best and the 3-0 scoreline in no way flattered FS Clumber who largely dominated the game to give at least five or six teams hope for the rest of the season.

White Horse certainly enhanced their position with a very convincing 7-1 win at Leverton United, forward power allied to a strong defence proved to be a winning combination for White Horse.

They will now have high hopes of a strong second half to the season.

Real Canutes have also run into something like their best form and a 6-3 win at Ranby Rangers - never an easiest place to win - was a great confidence boost for last season’s champions.

In Division Two, leaders Liberal Branch had their game against local rivals Maltings Meercats postponed making the game between challengers Real Canutes o30s and BFC Clumber a vital one to both.

Real Canutes O30s took the points after a single goal victory.

Misterton United, somewhat surprisingly, went down to a 2-1 home defeat to a Bridon AFC team who have struggled for most of the season.

Olde Sun and BRSA had a very close game and the latter just came out on top, 3-2.

Gate Inn Sutton welcomed Tuxford Working Men’s Club and the pairing also had a contest too close to call before the hosts scraped a 2-1 success.
